We rise through the individual and collective learning of our experiences.
This past Sunday, we explored the last of our 15 agreements from a broad perspective– “Being the Resolution.” The invitation is to look at what is missing in the world as an invitation to become what mine is to be.
For example, I am a One on the Enneagram – the “reformer” or the “perfectionist.” My personality type is to make the world a better place. The word that sticks out to me here is “make.” I can’t make anything happen. I can listen and choose from that deep place that whispers what is mine to co-create. I can pay attention to what a situation has triggered within me as a reaction and then pause. I can turn that trigger into a pointer to a greater purpose.
From this 15th commitment – pulling back from blame and looking at what is mine is a great place to start. From what is triggering, I can look into the shadow of that trigger and see a place of potential and possibility.
As a younger person, I became involved as a social activist. I started to be angry at the injustice and inequity of what was before me. At some point, through a bit of therapy and insight from friends, that anger turned into a place of what became mine uniquely to pursue. I found that my anger and resentment grew by staying in blame. I became involved with making a change where I was in the world, and in turn, I found myself more inspired, collaborative, and hopeful.
As we come together daily in spiritual practice and weekly through connection and exploration, we all bring that intuitive guidance to what unfolds at our center and continue creating the beloved community where all who walk in our doors feel enveloped and find ways to develop. In turn, we co-create a world that works for all.
